Sofia's Bio

Sofia Lovqvist, my long time friend and super trainer, is doing a clinic on Sunday, May 24th 2009 at Rancho Rio Verde Riding Club in Long Beach, CA.

Sofia started her career by training and working at Flyinge, the official Barn of the Swedish National Stud, when she was a young girl. (This is the same barn where Kyra Kirkland gained her fame.)

Since then, Sofia has worked for and trained with both Olympic Medalist, Guenter Seidel and World Cup Medalist, Christine Traurig and has trained under Olympic medalist, Steffen Peters, as well.

Rather than spending her time gaining fame and notoriety by competing, Sofia focuses herself on training and selling FEI level Warmbloods she imports from Europe.

Sofia is the most articulate and talented trainer I've worked with in my 35 years of riding. She has a great way of explaining things so that they make sense and you really can understand the finer points and 'get it'.

Sofia has trained several of my horses and has a special insight to the equine spychy rarely found inmost trainers.

Clinic Info:

The structure of the clinic is unique in that we offer 3 types of learning:

1. Classic: Regular 45 minute lesson with Sofia ($100)
   
2. Demo: 15 minute warm-up / demo on your horse with Sofia's assistant trainer. This allows you the benefit of seeing the correct way of moving through the issues, as well as, the benefit of your horse learning the correct way of going. The you have a 30 lesson with Sofia. This way you and your horse have the fresh visual and training while Sofia talks you through the correct feel of the movement. ~ 45 minute total ($100)
3. DVD filming services will be on site. If you want the added benefit of seeing and hearing the clinic to replay for your self and your trainer for future learning benefits. Maximum learning for your money. ($25)
